Current Projects: -Investigating mechansisms of cytotoxicity and intracellular trafficking of gene delivery polymers. Understanding how polymer structure affects its intracellular trafficking routes as well as how structure affects transfection efficiency and cell viability is essential for the rational design of safe, efficient gene delivery vectors. Different polymers' effects on mitochondrial function and apoptosis initiation as well as different mechanisms of nuclear entry and intracellular trafficking to the nucleus are currently being studied.
